I successfully flashed the code to the device to use the XDK cloud app and read the values in the Bosch cloud. I share my iPhone connection and it connects properly to the device.
When I register the MAC ("WLAN" on the back of the device with "XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX" numbers and capital letters) address of my XDK in the "Claim new XDK" configuration tab of the XDK Cloud App page, this error message appears:
Claiming failed: <html>
<head><title>502 Bad Gateway</title></head>
<center><h1>502 Bad Gateway</h1></center>
Can you give me some support?
Unfortunately I can only make an assumption on what kind of issue you are facing. Could you please explain in more detail what is happening ? What kind of application have you flashed onto the XDK. Are you using the XDK Portal demo, or an application which interacts with the new Bosch IoT cloud ?
Kind regards, Franjo
That´s correct: I flashed the XDK portal demo into the XDK, with the modified code as explained in the Getting Started Guide.
Then I went to https://xdkdemoapp.apps.bosch-iot-cloud.com/#/ and created a user (mancheed) so I can register my XDK and read the values.
When I try to claim a new XDK using the "WLAN" written on the back of the device, the error message appears (see attached pic).
As far as I understand, this web page should allow me to read the data that the XDK sends in the cloud via mi iPhone as a hotspot.
Thanks a lot for the support.
thank you for providing the additional information about your issue.
We are very glad that so many people are developing for the XDK. The XDK is a very open platform for development and multiple implemented use cases such as cloud solution are currently available. The mentioned platform is not directly developed and supported by the XDK team.
I was able to reproduce the issue you described, but I assume that this issue is related to the XDK Cloud app and not to the Bosch XDK demo on your XDK.
If you need some support regarding the XDK cloud app you mentioned, I would recommend to contact the responsible developers of the cloud directly. The Bosch IoT cloud is hosted by Bosch Software Innovations that you can contact here.
Please note that there will be a great cloud solution developed and supported by the XDK team by the end of 2017.
I realized I was using the wrong address to read the values in the cloud.
I now registered at https://bcds.bosch-si.com/login and everything runs smoothly.
Just a question: Is it possible to unlock additional sensor capabilities? Currently I can only use humidity, light, pressure and temperature (see screenshot attached).
it's good to hear that the issue was not so complex after all.
As for unlocking additional sensors: The sensors you mention (humidity, pressure, etc.) are one-dimensional, that's why the Live Chart only offers these kind of sensors.
The accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer data sets are three-dimensional and require a different kind of widget called Speedometer. Such a widget is already provided at Dashboards > XDK - Live. It should be preset to Gyroscope. If you need additional speedometer-widgets (for example to display accelerometer data and gyroscope data at the same time), go into edit mode, click on Add Widget and select Speedometer. With that, a new widget should appear on your current dashboard.
To configure the widgets and connect your XDK, press on the yellow edit button on the top right corner of the widget and then select your XDK and channel accordingly in the pop-up window.
Please tell me if this is helpful and do not hesitate to ask if you have further questions.
