I have flashed the example StreamSensorDataOverUsb to XDK device,  I assume that it would show all the sensor data periodically. But there is no any sensor data output.

I worked at

XDK Workbench

Version            : 3.3.0
Build date        : 2018-02-19T15:14:55Z

The info in console as following:

INFO | Connection to port 'COM11' established
 INFO | Flashing file 'C:/Users/dingweed/XDK-Workspace/StreamSensorDataOverUsb/debug/StreamSensorDataOverUsb.bin'...
INFO | Application checksum '3ebd' successfully verified.
 INFO | Transmission successfully completed!
 INFO | Booting application...

 INFO | XDK DEVICE 1: b
INFO | XDK DEVICE 1:  Jumping to application

Hello Ding,

First of all, let me welcome you to the XDK-Community.

You are correct, the sensor data should have been printed in the XDK Device Console. Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce your issue regarding the StreamSensorDataOverUsb example. I would recommend that you try to clean and build the project again.

Alternatively, have you tried any of the other examples from the Welcome-Screen, such as the LedsAndButtons example?

If not, could you please try out the LedsAndButtons with Workbench 3.3.0 and tell me if that is working? Since this may be an issue with the USB connection after starting an application, this example would be optimal for testing, as it only requires the buttons to be pressed (which will trigger the LEDs in return).

Additionally, could you try the StreamSensorDataOverUSB example with an older Workbench version? This would help determine if the cause is related to the newest Workbench version or if this is a general issue.

Kind regards,
Alex

Hello Alexander:

It works now, after the app booting, it need disconnect the XDK device and reconnect it again by clicking the COM button, then it can see the sensor RAW data now. Do you need reconnect the USB COM?

Thank you for your help!

Hello Ding,

I am glad to hear that you found the solution to your issue.

In regards to disconnecting, the XDK will do that on two occasions. The first is when the XDK changes from application mode to bootloader mode. This is the case when you flash a new application. It will immediately reconnect after going into bootloader mode, to flash the application.

The second occasion is when the XDK changes from bootloader mode to application mode, which is automatically happening after having flashed the application.

Usually, the XDK will automatically reconnect on both occasions, but it does not seem to do that in your case. Have you made any changes in the XDK-Workbench after installing it?

In the Workbench options (in the top menu bar) at Window > Preferences > XDK you will find the option Auto connect to device (only for COM) . Is that option checked? If not, please enable this, to let Workbench automatically connected to a device when it is found.

Otherwise, the only other option would be to reinstall the Workbench and see if that solves the issue.

Please tell me if this was helpful, and do not hesitate to ask further questions.

Kind regards,
Alex
