Hi,

This is the first time I am using an XDK sensor. I am not able to understand it's working. The following are my questions:

 1. How to set up the sensor using the workbench application? For eg. If I need to  run the acclerator       sensor. I would like to know the exact procedure from inital to final step (data acquisition).

2. Hw to transfer files to an SD card.

Hello Alberto,

welcome to the XDK community.

To get a better view and knowledge in what the XDK is capable of, I strongly recommend to start with the beginner guides. You can access them after a free registration at the XDK knowledge base and a click at the button getting started . Additionally, the knowledge base also contains a whole guide section, which deals with the XDK sensors, and also a Data Storage SD card guide.

If you want to entirely skip the C language and enjoy easier start programming the XDK, I suggest taking a look at the Mita section in the above-mentioned guide XDK knowledge base.
In comparison to C , coding with the new language Mita saves a lot of lines of code and is really easy to learn and program.

Unfortunately, since Mita is still in development state, it does not support all XDK specific features, like writing to an SD card. In addition, it is possible to link wrapped C functions to Mita, which allows handling for example the SD card writing. For that, I recommend taking a look at the Foreign Function Interface feature of Mita.

Please let me know if that was helpful and feel free to ask if you have further questions.

Kind regards,
Franjo

Hello Alberto,

as I mentioned in my last post, I really recommend you the XDK Knowledgebase . Please take a look at the Sensors chapter, in your case the Accelerometer article. At the end of every article is a full code example. You could simply copy this example, build and flash it on your device to make it work by almost none effort.

Of course, I recommend to read the whole article, which provides a lot information to learn.

Please tell me if this was helpful, and do not hesitate to ask further questions.

Kind regards,
Franjo
