Dear admins,
please improve the community by
(a) setting a longer auto-logout time
(b) consider the editor and the preview-buttons as activity
(b) SAVE THE INPUT IN THE EDIT FIELD PRIOR TO AUTO-LOGOUT, !@#$%

Currently, a longer post will lead to auto-logout and total loss of all typed text. Not very motivating!

Luckily, this time I've copy'ed the text, as I was expecting such a behavior, for some reasons.
But one could wonder, why people do expect such behavior...

Yes you are right, we as BCDS are not satisfied with the community and its various bugs right now. Result is, we are getting a new web dev agency that is in charge now, they are currently looking at the old code and we hope they can squish those bugs by the end of the month. However, thanks for your feedback, as the log-out-during-editing is something I learned through your post and will immediatelly be added to our bug tracker. Thanks for your support, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback - and sorry for the near-swearing in my initial post!
It was written still in the heat of the moment of near-data and time loss =)
Good to hear that things will get better soon!

I'm sorry for the inconveniences, like Kornelius already said we are very aware of this issues and currently working hard on a new and improved community! I can understand your frustration very well but just hang in there for some time, the XDK Community is going to be great in the near future!

Hey tpirk,

I know your pain and just as the others said before, there will be a better solution hopefully soon!

One thing I want to add though:
I had the problem about loosing the text several times before, if you use Chrome though (which does caching) you can easily go back with the browser's back button and your text should still be there.

Hope that helps temporarly,
Florian

Thanks for the hint Florian,

correct me if i'm wrong, but I think if the user gets auto logged out after a while it will still jump to the login page and the data is lost.

Marc,

that'd be the case if the caching policies were set correctly here, but they are not and therefore a browser with high caching settings will show you it's latest cached version of the site when going back, which will include your written text.
