I am getting error "Error with command: gdb --version
Cannot run program "gdb": Launching failed"
This error pops up while running application in debug as local c/c++ Application
Hello Brahmadeo, the XDK workbench provides a standalone package that should work right out of the box. This also applies to the included GNU project debugger (gdb). Does the error occur every time you try to debug an application or only at specific applications? Did you make any changes to the SDK? I would ask you to get more into detail about this issue so that I can reproduce it. Kind regards, Manuel
This error occurs when i try to run application in debug mode as local C/C++ application.
When I went through XDK documentation I found out that online Debugging is supported using Jtag.
if you create mormal C/C++ application GDB works because compiled file is in .exe format where as XDK compiled binary is in .out format.
I think this is the reason I was getting that error.
Hello Brahmadeo, as you have mentioned debugging is possible by connecting the XDK via a Jlink adapter and pressing the “debug” button in the XDK-devices view of the XDK workbench. The workbench will automatically switch into debug mode, flash the application and run it in debug mode. Did you tried that process? Please note that there is no need to create normal C/C++ applications in general. We recommend to start own applications with the provided XDKApplicationTemplate that includes all necessary configurations like the SDK or the XDK toolchain. Kind regards, Manuel
