I have issues downloading the XDK workbench on my laptop.
Has any of you experienced this? I am a Bosch employee and have a Bosch (HP) computer. The download blocks and fails after completing 300Mb.
Thanks for your support!
Hello Edouard, I checked the download of the XDK workbench and could not reproduce the mentioned issue. Unfortunately I assume this is not a topic that is directly related to the Workbench or XDK environment. The termination could be caused by limited download size. If you are permitted to access the USB-ports of your notebook, you have the possibility to download the workbench externally and install it via a USB-stick. Alternatively I would ask you to contact Bosch CI to make sure you have full download access. Kind regards, Manuel
I tried from non-Bosch computers (Apple and Mac) and on different wifi networks, and could not perform the download properly.
Is it possible to get it via a different link? I am located in Panama, Central America.
I bought 9 XDKs and reall need to make them work!!
Thanks for the support.
I have experienced this problem as well, but unfortunately I cannot offer a substantive way to solve the problem. My download would always fail after ~45mins of downloading (~350-400mb) on multiple different networks and on multiple different machines. After traveling during the holidays I was finally able to download the file while in Europe (I was originally downloading from the US). I presume that this issue has to do with the time that it takes to download as the download speed that I expereinced in Europe was significantly faster desipte being on an overall slower network.
I wish that I could provide more substantive advice other than "travel to Europe", perhaps one of the Bosch admins could provide an alternative download link as this appears to be more than an individual issue.
I used a download manager and saw the connection is being terminated on the Bosch side. I don't know for sure, but I am guessing it has to do with slow download speeds and how long the connection is active. I can only get 125kBits/s.
I was finally able to resolve it by "pausing" the download about every 100MBytes. There were times I did this more often. I watched the download speed and if I saw it drop below 100KBits/s, I paused it. When I resumed, it went right back up to 145Kbits/s.
Good luck! It was very frustrating for me. Perhaps Bosch could test this from a slow connection?
Hello there, Chris, it is great to hear that you discovered a sufficient solution to download the XDK Workbench. Nevertheless pausing the download should not be a general solution. We will further analyse this issue to identify if the download abort is caused by transmission times to the US. Maybe it is necessary to improve the response time of the download server. I will keep you posted in the community. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have further questions. Kind regards, Manuel
Do you have any news regarding the download server?
Hello Edouard, we are still working on this issue to find a convenient solution independent of the download location. I really apologize the inconvenience. I will get back to this topic immediately when I know more. Kind regards, Manuel
Hello Luis, unfortunately I am not allowed to upload BCDS sources on third party clouds. But we set up an alternative download link for you: We splitted the workbench source into packages with max. 100 mb. You can download the small parts of the workbench here. You need to combine and extract them after downloading (e.g. by using 7zip). Please let me know if this is a solution for you. Kind regards, Manuel
Hello Luis, great to hear that you solved the download issue. Hopefully the splitted parts solve this issue for anybody else with download problems too. Kind regards, Manuel
I tried downloading those 6 parts and installing them. Still it gives me error that : "It is an invalid zip file and unable to extract he files"
Secondly, file which is downloaded has a name: install_XDK-1.7.0-x86_64.zip.001. So, Windows recognizes the file type to be 001. I tried changing the extension, still it doesn't work.
Kindly, help me with this issue.
Hello Sanika, welcome to the XDK community. I assume you have to download all six parts of the XDK Workbench. To install the Workbench it is important to combine the splitted parts again to one executable installation file. You need to select all six parts and use 7zip or an other compression application to decompress the files correctly. Please note that is very important to select all six downloaded files and extract them then all once. Now you should obtain the correct XDK Workbench installation file. Please tell me if this solves your issue and do not hesitate to ask if you have further questions. Kind regards, Manuel
I am unable to download the software. Is there others ways to download it? I had tried downloading the split part but i found out that is not the newest version of XDK. Is there anyway to access to the newest version without downloading the whole file?
Hello Shafeela, we will prepare a split version of the latest XDK-Workbench. For that, please tell us which version you require (E.g. Windows, 64-Bit). Kind regards, Franjo
i would need window 64 bits. Thank You for your fast reply. :)
We prepared the split Download for the Windows 64-Bit XDK-Workbench 3.1.0. You can download the parts via the following part links:
Part01 Part02 Part03 Part04 Part05 Part06 Part07 Part08 Part09 Part10 Part11 Part12 Please let me know if this works for you and do not hesitate to ask if you have further questions.
Kind regards, Franjo
Recent days, I try to download the Workbench 3.0.1 on Ubuntu (the Workbench 3.1.0 is crashed when running on Ubuntu). It takes me nearyly 1 week but the download is not completed yet; the download is failed and I have to restart so many times. The average download speed is 50Kbits/second.
I am still downloading the workbench and just wish that it is not failed!
