My objective is to be able to flash the XDK devices over Bluetooth. In fact, what we have now is a bootloader that can write the program using the serial communication over USB. What I need, is how to load new programs firmware (or updates of same program) using bluetooth communication.
What I need to learn? Do you have any example or tutorial about how to write bootloader using bluetooth ? Thak you for your help !
Hello Lahcen, it is a great idea to implement an application, which can flash new XDK applications on the XDK via bluetooth low energy. Unfortunately there is no documentation available about how to implement flashing via bluetooth. In addition in fact that the bandwidth is comparable low, I would recommend to contemplate Wi-Fi. You can take a look at the FOTA (firmware over the air) section in the general information guide. It allows flashing of new bootloader updates via Wi-Fi and eliminates the need for an serial J-Link adapter. In addition, you can find corresponding FOTA header and implementation files via the following folder path within the SDK. SDK > xdk110 > Plattform > FOTA > include & source The corresponding FOTA config can be found via this folder path: SDK > xdk110 > Common > config > FOTA I guess you can adapt some parts for your own implementation. Please tell me if this is helpful and do not hesitate to ask if you have further questions. Kind regards, Franjo
Thank you for replying.
Sorry, I could'nt find any result about FOTA in the link you send me: general information guide.
Could you please tell me, what I need to todo to be able to load firmware from my PC to XDK device via Wifi. Abviously I will need a Wifi gateway (an Access Point or a Wifi router) to connect them within the same network. So I will know the IP address of the XDK device. Could you please, help me with step-by-step instructions on how to load the firmware.
Hello Lahcen, I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately the online general information guide needs to be updated. I uploaded a preview version for your that is available via this link. You should find the information you are looking for in this document. Please tell me if this is helpful and do not hesitate if you have further questions. Kind regards, Franjo
