Hello folks, long time I not posted nothing on the community (yes a lot of work involving the XDK, the device actually is giving to my startup a lot of new projects). So, I'm wondering if you are tested or got information about the new Amazon's FreeRTOS: https://aws.amazon.com/freertos/
One of the main interesting points is the built in AWS IoT platform on the kernel. Since XDK already use the FreeRTOS kernel, could be a a good idea to support the builtin aws services through AmazonFR, couldn't?
The XDK already has the CC3100 + simplelink Wifi solution so the port seems to not be a painful task, right? It is just a suggestion, please let me know your comments about that. Felipe
Hello Felipe, updating the FreeRTOS source files would actually be quite nice. Currently, the FreeRTOS version on the XDK is 7.4.2. I am guessing that the developers of the XDK's SDK already considered to update FreeRTOS, but did not see the need yet. I will try to get some information on the current plans in regards to updating the FreeRTOS kernel and adding new features. And by the looks of it, including amazon:FreeRTOS would be quite beneficial, but it can just as well be ported by users individually, although a central distributed version by BCDS would be most optimal. I will post here any information I may receive regarding this topic. Kind regards, Franjo
Hello Felipe, I am always glad to help. Kind regards, Franjo
