1) Can bosch XDK scan nearby Bluetooth/BLE devices such as beacon?
2) I want to scan nearby beacon using bosch XDK Bluetooth and send detected beacon data to the cloud using bosch xdk WiFi. Is it possible?
Please reply me as soon as possible.
The XDK can infact be turned into a Central device. You will however, need to bypass the high level APIs and go directly to the BLE Alpwise Library which takes a bit more skill. I am also unaware of any code that is already implemented for this, so you will need to take on this work. However I can start you down the right path.
The high level configuration file can be found here in the SDK at SDK\xdk110\Common\config\BLECustomConfig.h. You will need to open this file and change the device from an advertiser to a scanner at the very least.
Next you will need to look at the Alpwise libary also in the SDK at SDK\xdk110\Libraries\BLEStack. In this folder you can dive down to find the CoreStack. In this there is a documenation folder that has a core stack implementer's guide that should help you understand how to set up the XDK as a central device. You can also look at the BleConfig.h file in the Core Stacks interfaces to get a better idea of what each of the macros defined in the previously mentioned custom config file does to the ble module.
I know this isn't much help, but is should get you started down the right path.
Hello, I agree with Christopher Koch. We are using in our plant a BCDS Firmware which is posting all internal and external sensordata to our Nexeed PPM directly. In my configuration file i can select if i wish to see BLE beacons. This is a use case to detect if repair equipment, people, sevices etc. are actually or already in the problem zone.
